The George Nelson Jr. “Challenge Cup”
18-hole public golf scramble. Saturday, September 13th, 2025 – 8:30am Shotgun
For the fifth year we are honored to host the Challenge Cup, honoring George Nelson Jr. who fought in WWII as part of the Army’s famed “10th Mountain Division”. Because of George and the Nelson family’s love of the North Shore and outdoor activities, Superior National is the golf course it is. We want to honor that legacy by raising funds for the Folds of Honor and 10th Mountain Division scholarships foundations.
To register, email SNLproshop@gmail.com your team members(up to 5 players per team) and a contact phone number. Payment is not due until day of event.
100-Hole Challenge
September 14th, 2025
Donations and pledges now being accepted
The Folds of Honor Foundation provides educational scholarships to the children and spouses of fallen or disabled military service members.
On September 14th, Superior National at Lutsen will be represented by Team Ekstrom – Heath Ekstrom, Superior National’s PGA Head Professional, and his nephews Kyle and Luke. They will once again golf from sun up to sun down in an attempt to play 100 holes of golf (or more) in a day. With the help and encouragement from their family they need to average a time of 45 minutes per 9-holes. Scores are not as great as they would like, but it’s more about the fun and raising money for a fantastic foundation.
They still need your help.
Their goal is to raise $10,000 (which equals two $5,000 scholarships) and they are getting close. Please donate by clicking the link below;
