The Greatest Golf on the Greatest Lake is Now Even Better
With great excitement, Superior National completed a $4.6 million dollar renovation on the River and Canyon nines. This new Premier 18 solidifies Superior National’s commitment to being among Minnesota’s Top 10 destination golf courses. With views of Lake Superior, it is an “Ocean-view” like golf course in Minnesota.
A Whole New Superior National
If you haven’t played Superior National’s new Premier 18, you haven’t played Superior National! Renowned golf architect Jeffrey Brauer refined Superior National’s signature challenges with Ohio’s Best white sand bunkers, five new sets of tees, playable roughs and wider fairways, environmentally-friendly irrigation and immaculate, larger greens.
The quality of the renovations brings out the natural beauty of the course. Accentuating challenging elevation changes, creating seamless transitions, and developing a course that offers a challenging yet enjoyable experience for varying skill levels were priorities in the design. Of course, the spectacular views of Lake Superior, the Poplar River, and the Sawtooth Mountains are still among the top reasons to play Superior National.
Superior National Premier 18 Inaugural Season
The two-phase renovation began with the River 9 mid summer of 2013. The River 9 reopened early fall of 2015, where the construction began on the Canyon 9 holes..
With the Canyon 9 renovations beginning in the fall of 2015, play was on the Mountain and Rivers 9’s. The Canyon opened for limited play in the month of September 2017, and opened for the 2018 season June 27th, 2018.
2019 marked the first full season for the combined newly-renovated Premiere 18: the renowned River and Canyon Courses. Now is the best time to come play Superior National!
